Saint
Vlas - the pearl of the Bulgarian Black Sea
Coast |
 |
Saint Vlas is a beautiful
coastal village with around 3000
inhabitants, is located about 5 kilometers
north of Sunny Beach and 9 km from Nessebar.
This magnificent resort is a great
combination of beautiful seaside at the foot
of the mountain and in recent years has
developed into a modern destination for
summer vacations at sea. In the resort was
built brand new hotels and infrastructure.
This makes Saint Vlas a preferred
destination for holidaymakers who want to
enjoy the beautiful mountains and have fun
at the beach. |
Location: Saint Vlas resort is
located directly on the Black Sea coast
at the foot of the Eastern Balkan
Mountains, and is among the fastest
developing summer destinations in
Bulgaria. The town is just 4 km north of
Sunny Beach, the biggest Bulgarian
seaside resort. Saint Vlas, Sunny Beach
and Nessebar together form the largest
summer tourist megapolis in Bulgaria
where all types of entertainment and
services are available, and each flavor
is taken into account. The city is very
popular for its mixed Mediterranean
climate - mountain and sea air currents
combine to clear the air and make the
climate very suitable for the treatment
of respiratory diseases.
Natural resources: The climate is very healthy and mountainous
south-facing slopes, forests, sea and
beaches are an excellent place for
recreation and relaxation. The beaches
are three with a total length of 1.5
kilometers. The longest is the central,
south of it is the small beach "Camping"
and the third is near the yacht - harbor
"Marina". "Marina" is a new, very
beautiful port, built near the fishing
area. It offers everything needed for
amateur yachtsmen, to be able to
experience an unforgettable summer
vacation. You can rent or even buy a
yacht and a team of professional
consultants will provide you with
impeccable service.
History: For resort Saint Vlas (Sv.
Vlas) is believed to be founded by the
Thracian tribe larisi in the 2nd century
BC. BC. At that time the settlement
named Larissa. It is renamed "Saint Vlas"
in 14th century AD, named after the
patron saint of producers and traders of
cattle. During Ottoman rule (late 14-19
century), the village appeared in
administrative registers as "Monastery"
or "Kyuchuk monastery" for five
monasteries around the village.
Unfortunately, none of the monasteries
has not been preserved until today.
Officially, the resort gets its name of
Sveti Vlas after the reunification of
the Bulgarian state in 1886.
Sveti Vlas is a quiet resort, but its
proximity to Sunny Beach makes it
possible to experience unforgettable
emotions of the summer nightlife. This
makes it a perfect vacation spot for
both families with children and for
people who want both leisure calm
combined with visits to nightclubs and
discos in the adjacent resort.
